R-ZERO Episode 1
The Idea
The idea for R-ZERO started around March of 2007 during the massive R0 craze.
On one of the updates for FFXI something got borked and people across all over the servers were disconnecting for no reason whenever they tried to zone.
Because of this I made an R-ZERO logo, the red R0 and the two arrows, and the R-ZERO concept was born.
A month later work began on a story for R-ZERO, and went through many stages.
The initial concept was going to be Kis' journey levelling a new job with Megaman and Celaeno. Along the way she would meet random gimps and noobs.
The idea was scrapped after a script for episode 1 was made however. The final idea of R-ZERO being sort of 'game orientated' came to me around July when listening to 'Seymour's Battle' from FFX.
When I heard it I kind of had the idea that the antagonist would be fighting Kis and Megaman to that music in the style of FFX.
Thus R-ZERO was born.
The Video
R-ZERO took two days to film and several days to edit. The intro for R-ZERO which was taken from Heroes started off as something original but it was too long and I didn't like it so I just nabbed the heroes intro because it's nice and short.
The main antagonist bears a striking resemblance to Sephiroth from FFVII. Many people have said that is who he is supposed to be, but infact they are wrong! More on this character's identity will be revealed at some stage though.
The basic story of R-ZERO is that it's set within a game which has the ability to take different forms of battle systems. The first being the FFX ATB system. It was done in photoshop and took a few hours to make with me having to constantly look at the PS2 to see if everything was accurate.
The video was very rushed. I wanted to finish editing before the Fan Festival so I could show the people there the video. It was very well recieved! Thank you for everyone who stopped by to watch!
